Samara

You haven't seen it all until you've seen Samara.

Runnability is mostly excellent outside of the rocky volcanic landforms.
Open areas are almost too fast, remember to check your compass!
Can you spot the world's third-tallest volcanic structure?
Yes, sometimes there are rocks on the ground. You'll get over it.
The caves are great for sightseeing, not so great to run into. Watch your step!

About the Map

One of the more unique orienteering terrains you'll ever experience. Unobstructed views to Boca Cangrejo and Mt. Teide come as a bonus.

At the higher elevations, runners encounter open ash fields with exceptional visibility, allowing for high pace and straightforward navigation across expansive areas. As the terrain descends, it transitions into highly detailed, rocky formations that demand precise map-reading and careful movement. These lower, intricate sections test your technical skills to the limits, offering a complex maze of natural landforms where every step must be carefully chosen.

After your workout, go check out the famous caves, "Cueva de Samara". For your own safety, please stay away from them during orienteering!
